DANNY WHITEBREAD - MY MUSIC TASTE

Who am I?

DANNY WHITEBREAD

from my pie chart you can see I tend to pay for the majority of my music from iTunes or use subscription services like spotify and bloom.fm (iPhone app) I also listen to the radio to hear trends or upcoming music, I don't 'steal' music by illegal download or listen to YouTube for music.
I like quality in music so illegal downloads do not give that quality

Mock:

From watching the clip I could pick out 3 different stereotypes related to class Under Class, Upper Class and Working Class. I will be showing how they are portrayed during the clip. The first class you see is Under Class he is wearing very old and tattered clothes but he is shown in a castle which could maybe mean that he is a slave which is something you could associate withe the Under Class stereotype. When an Upper Class lady enters the room he immediately receives less prominence showing that he is less important and also when she asks him a question he stutters a lot and finds it hard to talk showing him as uneducated which is another stereotype of his class. During the fight scene the cuts are very fast paced showing spontaneity which could mean that he doesn't know how to fight and he is un easy in the situation and the music is very fast paced and he is falling over everywhere this shows that he is very out of place in this situation. After the fight there is a high angle shot over him showing him as powerless and weak compared to the Upper Class fighter. After the fight scene they are in what seems to be a house which is very small and un clean which is something you would associate with Under Class.

The next stereotype shown is Upper Class you get a perspective of a male and female stereotype in the clip. When you are introduced to the female she is wearing a very nice clean looking dress with her hair nicely done and she is very pretty which is a stereotype of Upper Class. When she enters the room the main focus of the camera is her showing she is more important when she talks to the Under Class man and she talks down to him and only asks him a question as if she's not really interested in any thing else he has to say. The next character you are introduced to is a Upper Class man who is in nice clothes with some armour, he is well spoken which could show that he is educated and he also tells the under class man that he cant speak to him like that which could mean he has a very high status and he can boss the under class man around. He also insults and makes fun of  the Under Class man. When they are fighting he is mainly shown on his feet while the other character is falling over, showing him to be in control of the situation he is also has more prominence during the fight and at the end of the fight when he wins there is a low angle shot at him showing him to be more dominate and fearful.

The final stereotype you are shown in the clip is Working Class. Although there is no main focus on it during the clip they are just follow the fight cheering. The class is really shown through the use of sound though as you hear in the background people talking you hear people working and in one shot someone is chopping logs in the background, so when they are shown they are just working. It is set in a Market place where there would be Working Class people trading.

From watching the clip I can pick up on a few main aspects on which represent the different classes. The Under Class can be shown very easily through the use of Mise-en-Scene and in particular Costume as in you could dress them in rags and make them look dirty and unclean, you could also use camera angles so mainly shoot them with High Angle shots. You can show Upper Class in very similar ways nice clothes and Low angle shot showing them with power, you could also use camera and give them more prominence in the shots. For Working Class you could easily show it through the use of Location and non-diegetic sounds for example putting loads of voices in and sounds of people working.
